Survey on Welfare Provision in Leicestershire

Survey on Welfare Provision in Leicestershire thumbnail

The Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) will from 1st April 2013 transfer the responsibility for the discretionary funding from the current Social Fund to Local Authorities. The transfer of responsibility from DWP is comes without any guidance and with a reduced funding framework.

Leicestershire County Council has been developing a local scheme called ‘Leicestershire Welfare Provision’ in consultation with partner organisations. Changes to the eligibility criteria have been made, following  comments in early January.

We would now like to seek further comments from both partners/ stakeholders and individuals on the attached revised eligibility criteria by Thursday 28th February 2013. These comments will help influence the eligibility criteria to be applied from the 1st April 2013 in Leicestershire.

Please could you have a look at the survey aimed at partner agencies: http://www.leics.gov.uk/lnsf.htm

We’d also be grateful if you could request people using services know about the survey, and encourage them to comment if they wish. The survey for individuals can be found here: http://www.leics.gov.uk/welfareprovision.htm

Links to both surveys can be found  http://www.leics.gov.uk/leics_welfare_provision.htm

If you have any queries regarding the surveys, please contact Anjana Bhatt, Policy & Partnership Manager on 0116 3056946 or email Anjana.bhatt@leics.gov.uk.
