Access to Work funding has been described as DWP’s ‘best kept secret’ and the Centre are working to encourage people to use to it support people with mental health conditions who want to work!
Did you know that only 3 per cent of DWP Access to Work funding is spent on supporting people with mental health conditions into employment?
People with a mental health disability under the Equality Act 2010 are eligible for Access to Work support when they start work and/or to help them stay in work when they become unwell. They can also receive support to attend interviews if they struggle with communication. What’s more they don’t need to disclose their mental illness to their employer to receive support.
