COFILMIC ‘Best of the Festival’ on Tour!

Phoenix square, 18th February 7pm

 

The UK’s first Comedy Short Film Festival and Talent Development programme had its inaugural event at The Comedy Store, Manchester on 30th Oct and 1st Nov 2011.  The top ten winners, runners up and audience voted films start their tour around the country in Leicester, as part of the Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.

COFILMIC  would like to welcome anyone with an intrest in writing, performing or making comedy TV or film to come along, meet some of the film makers behind the winning films, sketches and sitcom pilots and make connections with the organisers.

Leicester base

We plan to have a more permanent network, based at Phoenix Square in Leicester, to help discover and nurture new comedy and film making talent.  Our aim is for writers, film makers and performers to collaborate with each other on new and exciting projects – all benefitting from the fantastic expertise of the COFILMIC judging panel and list of associates including:

Charlie Hanson: producer working with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant on Extras, Lifes Too Short and Cemetry Junction and with a 20+ year history in comedy

Henry Normal, CEO Baby Cow

Steve North, commissioning editor, Dave

Kristian Smith commissioning editor, BBC Comedy

Pete Thornton, commissioning editor Comedy Central

Leslee Udwin, producer, West is West and East is East

Kevin Cecil & Andy Riley, writers on Little Britain, Black Books and The Great Outdoors
