Sathya Sai School is actively considering applying for Free School Status under the Current Free Schools Initiative of the Government subject to approval by its international body.

Community Cohesion, Equalities and Diversity are ingrained in its basic tenets which are:

  • Unity in Diversity
  • Unity of Faiths
  • Ceiling on Desires
  • Self-less Service

As part of the process of engaging with the local community,

  • We invite you to support and join in our exciting endeavour to open up the school to parents in the local community which consists of diverse ethnic groups and includes disadvantaged families.
  • We also invite you to visit our school by way of support, and to communicate with us as part of a long term process.
  • We request that you give this information to those whom you consider may benefit from this initiative.

Sathya Sai School Leicester is part of a worldwide network of Sathya Sai Schools inspired by the internationally known educationalist and spiritual teacher Sathya Sai. There are 40 Sathya Sai Schools outside India. The Sathya Sai School in Leicester is an independent, co-educational nursery, primary and secondary day school.  It conforms to the conditions set out by the DfE – Independent schools. It offers the National Curriculum supplemented and reinforced with values-based education. The school is the only Sathya Sai School in the United Kingdom.  Its distinctive provision is based on the Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) Programme of Truth, Right Conduct, Love, Peace and Non-violence.

The aim of the Sathya Sai School is to develop pupils’ character and virtues alongside academic excellence. Sathya Sai Integral Education combines the brilliance of reason with the quiet, calm and depth of moral and spiritual education. The School’s motto is The end of education is character”.

The following statements reflect the ethos of the school and our Curriculum:

  • We value the way in which all children are unique, and our curriculum promotes respect for the views of each individual child, as well as for people of all cultures.
  • We value the spiritual and moral development of each person, as well as their intellectual, emotional and physical growth.
  • We organise our Curriculum so that we promote unity, co-operation and understanding between all members of our community.
  • We aim to enable each person to be successful whilst being of good character, and we provide equal opportunities for all the children in our school.
  • We value our environment, and we aim, through our curriculum, to teach respect and care for our world, and how to preserve it for future generations.
