Have you got what it takes to be a Barclays Ball Kid?

Almost every professional tennis player will tell you their first steps onto a show court were as a ball kid – even Roger Federer. The Swiss superstar was a ball boy at his hometown tournament in Basel. Those days spent sprinting around for stars like Jimmy Connors gave Federer a taste of the big time – and he decided he wanted more! Years later he returned to win a hat-trick of titles in Basel and the stadium is now even named in his honour – the Roger Federer Arena! You see, dreams do come true and now it could be your turn…

Barclays are giving 30 kids between the ages of 12 and 16 the chance to step on court with the greatest players in the world as ball kids at the 2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at London’s O2 Arena. If you’d like to get up close and personal with the best eight guys on the planet here’s what to do.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t play tennis to a high standard or you aren’t an expert on the game, all Barclays is looking for is bags of passion and heaps of enthusiasm. So if you reckon you’ve got what it takes the first step is to visit www.BarclaysBallKids.com to take a fun interactive quiz anytime before the closing date on February 25th 2010.

If you ace the quiz, you’ll be invited to regional selection trials and then national selection trials where you’ll be put through your paces and get to meet Barclays ambassadors and take home some Lacoste goodies.

The final crew of 30 lucky ball kids will be selected in April and that’s when their journey to the O2 will really begin. They will work with experts during a series of training sessions and at a Barclays Ball Kid Basecamp in London during the autumn half-term before stepping on court at the world’s most glamorous indoor tennis tournament in November 2010.
