You are cordially invited to our Stationery and Tea Party on 28 November 2009 from 2-6pm in Coalville, Leceister, 26 London Road, LE67 3AJ. Entry is free; just bring a for a box of stationery and/or a monetary donation. The programme for the day is attached.

Zimbabwe Teachers Network is a non-profit organisation registered in England & Wales (registration number 6885439). It is dedicated to enabling a productive education system in disadvantaged Zimbabwean schools, which through: teacher professional development, provision of essential education needs, and harnessing of human resources through interchange with other educators and students worldwide, produces a capable, innovative and self-reliant future generation.

In the 6 months we have been operating, we have managed to accomplish a number of things including:

  • run a writing competition (August to October 2009) designed to promote creativity, critical thinking and research, focus attention on education and boosting self-esteem. Prizes will be given to the best entries
  • support a very successful urgent appeal for a Zimbabwean student to receive life-saving treatment in the UK.

For further details please go to http://www.zimteachers.com/aboutus.htm

What help do we need?
Teaching and learning resources (like books, pencils, crayons, flip charts, etc). Monetary assistance and donation is also most welcome. We will be sending these to Zimbabwe as well as supporting ongoing professional development for teachers and help in setting up self-reliance projects.
