The Truth about Youth!

The Truth about Youth! thumbnail

Following on from our successful ‘No More Bullying’ media project last year, we are delighted to have received funding again for 2009/10!

The Truth About Youth is an opportunity for economically disadvantaged young people from Leicester and Leicestershire, aged 13 – 19 (up to 25 with a learning disability or difficulty), to gain valuable skills including scriptwriting, iPhoto, interviewing, using microphones, storyboarding etc.

They will:

  • Make new friends
  • Receive training from friendly workers in a supportive and welcoming setting
  • Receive a certificate on completion of the Truth About Youth Workshop
  • Increase their confidence
  • Have the opportunity to work towards a Youthtrain accreditation
  • Have fun

Participating in this project will be a great addition to a young persons record of achievement or CV, and any completed material produced will be put onto a CD-rom and will also be part of an exhibition.  No previous experience is needed for participants, full training will be provided.  All the events are free, bus fare is reimbursed and refreshments are provided.  Do you work with any young people that would benefit from this project?
