Young dancers sought for county showcase

Mass Movement, the youth dance platform for the county, is looking for groups of 8 – 20 dancers aged 11 to 19 years old to showcase their work at a high profile event early in 2010.  Clubs and schools representing any dance style are invited to submit their application to take part by 6th November.

Mass Movement 2010 is set to showcase the endless amount of talent and diversity from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.  Taking place at the Peepul Centre on 5th and 6th February 2010, it will provide a fantastic opportunity for young people to perform in a professional venue and a chance for dancers, leaders, family and friends to participate in the event.

Over 200 young people from 14 schools and youth groups from around the city and county took part in Mass Movement 2009, performing to more than 400 audience members!

Part of the U.Dance national dance development programme, Mass Movement is led by Youth Dance England (YDE) and is managed by The Dance Development Officer for Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland with support from Critical Mass Agency at Leicester College.

To apply for the chance to perform at Mass Movement, contact Simon Toole, Platform Administrator on SToole@leicester.college.ac.uk or 0116 2616828.   Groups should be 8 – 20 dancers aged 11 to 19 years old.  Disabled young people can take part up to the age of 24.  Completed applications must be received by 6th November.
