Local Charity surprised by recession anomalies

Local Charity surprised by recession anomalies thumbnail

Amid all the current doom and gloom arising from the recession (from which local charities are by no means exempt), Age Concern Leicester Shire & Rutland has been particularly thrilled to be able, in a small way, to “do its bit” to mitigate the ever–rising unemployment figures.
Its Home Help team is recruiting strongly in Leicester City, North and South Charnwood, Loughborough, Melton, Oadby, Wigston, Hinckley, Lutterworth and Market Harborough to meet the demand for its services which include such things as cleaning, food preparation, laundry, ironing and shopping as well as the need to recruit Respite Workers in Coalville, Loughborough, Charnwood, Harborough, Oadby and Wigston for hard pressed carers to have a little well-earned time for themselves. The great benefit for many of the Home Care Service clients and their families is that it enables them to defer the need for expensive residential care.

Commenting, the Executive Director of Age Concern, Mr Anthony Donovan, said; “We recognise that there are times when people need a little help because of age, illness or disability in order to remain living within the comfort of their own home. All our Home Helps are carefully selected and trained to ensure they provide the highest standards in a friendly and efficient way for a very reasonable charge.

Anyone either seeking this kind of assistance or work as a Home Help or Respite Worker should contact our Home Help Manager, Wendy Dunmore on 0116 2992259 or contact the HR Dept. for an application pack on 0116 2992252

For more details please contact:
