Former manager of a Coventry charity sentenced to three years for obtaining property by deception.
A woman who stole £100,000 from a charity that worked to support African and African-Caribbean women in Coventry has been jailed for three years.
Cavelle Lynch, 40, was sentenced last week for obtaining property by deception, a spokeswoman for Coventry Crown Court confirmed.
Lynch forged cheques totalling £100,000 during her time as manager of the now defunct Osaba Family Centre, in the Hillfields area of the city.

I was shocked to hear this news about Cavelle. I only spoke to her a few weeks ago at a networking event. The real story is how much of this the ACCF knew before she started with them back in 2008. I remember visiting the ACCF on her first day and speaking at length about the challenges ahead in her new job. We talk about governance issues when we mention the developing world but we still suffer from these problems in our own communities. It will be interesting to see how the ACCF deals with the communities reaction to her conviction at its public meeting next weekend. Editor
